SUSTAINABILITY

OUR SUSTAINABILITY VISION

At Kez’s Kitchen we are inspired to be the best we can and have a positive impact. We are passionately committed to reducing our environmental footprint, improving our products and production methods, and developing a financially sustainable business that will thrive, support our growing team, and contribute positively - well into the future.

Why? Because we are a future-focused business that cares about building a better tomorrow.

OUR ACTIONS

We know that our actions impact others in our community – our shoppers, our customers, our employees, our suppliers and our planet, so we are working with our extended Kez’s Kitchen family to share this goal.

Our sustainability vision is based on three target areas:

People
Planet
Product

PEOPLE

We are working to create an engaged and aligned workforce through positive inter-department connections, staff engagement surveys, and increased communication between teams.

PLANET

We commit to working towards a better tomorrow by protecting the world that we live in for future generations to come. This means finding ways to create positive impacts as well as limiting negative impacts.

PRODUCT

We embrace circular thinking. This means all waste is a potential resource. It also means making it easy for our customers to choose products that are high quality, better for you, sustainably sourced and responsibly packaged.

OUR INITIATIVES

People

We are commited to the Ethical Sourcing of all materials, and providing a safe and inclusive workplace.

Ethical Sourcing Policy

We're developing an Ethical Sourcing Policy to demonstrate our commitment to business practices that ensure the safe, ethical and environmentally conscious production of our products, at all points along the supply chain.

Fostering Inclusion in our Workplace

We aim to foster inclusion and a culture of belonging through cultural observance, team diversity and an equal opportunity approach to hiring.

Investing in Holistic Wellbeing

We are working to create an engaged and aligned workforce through positive inter-department connections, staff engagement surveys, and increased communication between teams.

Creating Meaningful Careers

We aim to create meaningful careers in food processing through suitable induction programs, staff success plans and staff development.

Planet

We are commited to Zero Waste to Landfill from our Noble Park site.

Reducing Our Emissions

We're commiting to reducing our greenhouse gases and carbon emissions. We'll keep you informed as we measure the impact from our Noble Park site (in 2023), and set our future targets through to 2030.

Reducing Material Waste

We're comitting to reducing our packaging waste and in site waste streams. Our measures and targets will be set and shared with you in 2023.

4,000 Pails Removed From Landfill

We've removed 4000 plastic pails (buckets) from landfill this year by opting for Pallecons (bulk intermediate containers designed for the transportation, storage and handling of liquids).

Product

We're commited to 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging

Sustainable Packaging Strategy Introduced

We've developed a sustainable packaging strategy to be accountable for and transparent about our packaging ambitions - including communicating those goals to you, our customers.

ARL's (Australasian Recycling Labels)

By 2025 100% of our packaging will have ARL’s to help provide easy to understand recycling information and reduce waste going to landfill.

Embracing Circular Economy

Kez’s Kitchen commits to evolving the way we do business to embrace circular thinking; this means all waste is a potential resource. It also means making it easy for our customers to choose products that are high quality, better for you, sustainably sourced and responsibly packaged.

Recyclable or Compostable Packaging

By 2030 Kez's Kitchen commits to using 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging in all products.

ABOUT OUR SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING STRATEGY

Our goal is to close the loop in the circular economy by promoting and supporting the packaging value chain and diverting Kez’s Kitchen packaging from landfill.

OUR PROGRESS

OUR COMMITMENTS
